Thomas And Friends: The Movie is a 2020 American/British 3D-2D CGI Live action animated family comedy Science Fiction adventure fantasy Coming of age Crossover film directed by Crazy Nate based on The Railway Series by Rev. W. Awdry, on the television series of the character from the same name. It Was Distributed By Disney,pixar and Paramount Pictures and Produced by Nickelodeon Movies,20th century stuidos,Mattel Creations and HiT Entertainment.Relased on blu ray and digital on July 14th 2020 and theaters in The UK on November 15th 2020.
Plot
After The Events of Thomas and the Magic Railroad (as revealed in the post-credits of Thomas and The Magic Railroad: Full Steamed and Uncut) and Between The Events of Kenji On The Rails, Thomas gets Teased by Flying Scotsman and Goes on a Big world Adventure in America (with Abby Hatcher,Percy,James,Timothy,Grizelda,True,Mr Conductor and C,Junior) but These Things Combine and makes Them Meet the Phineas and Ferb Gang,Lightning McQueen and The Other Cars and new Villains like Tornado,Oscar Galvin From Unstoppable (2010) who are working Together with Diesel 10,Splatter,Dodge,P.T. Boomer,George and Chick Hicks to Help with Diesel Power and to Destroy Tourist Railroads To turn them into Roads,Thomas makes this Adventure into a plan to Prove he is not a child/Silly Engine. The Team Goes into Galvin's Headquarters and sees the plans of Diesel Power and Steal it Later They go to California and have a meeting on why Oscar Galvin,Tornado,P.T Boomer want to do Diesel Power with The Other Steam Engines,Before the team can find the rest of the clue, they are found by Tornado,Diesel 10, Splatter and Dodge, P.T. Boomer and Oscar Galvin Diesel 10 starts to close in on the Four engines, with his claw raised up and orders his cronies to destroy The other engines and They Order Him But The Gang Escapes and Begin a wild chase though Canada and The American West Their New Human Friends,Abby Hatcher,Mr Conductor and C,Junior use a trick From Galaxy Express 999 Episode 679B: Siren Of The witch Manual Power But However P.T Boomer Was driving Tornado with Tornado's Driver and Fireman making more coal During The Chase Lighting (Who is on The Flatbed) Suggests Otis to push a button in James's Cab,Otis Presses The Eject Button and Thinks That it will make Them Escape But it Launches C,Junior on to Diesel 10's Cab were he Think he's never going to get to the Mainland Oscar Glavin Hears what he said and Radios Boomer that there is where they were take over the world The Gang Freaks out and saves Junior from Diesel 10 Boomer Says That they were going to lose this Chase to Thomas The Tank Engine and says I Don't Think so and Orders Tornado's Driver and fireman to making more Coal Which makes The pressure hotter Thomas and The Gang Sees The Tracks Combined Which make Glavin Push The Button That Actives Diesel 10's Claw Pinchy Which Attacks The Gang. Tornado's pressure goes to high and His Driver says to Boomer that its to high and boomer talks to him about balance in Life but His Fireman Makes they look at The Pressure and Boomer says oh no which makes Tornado's Safety Value and Steam Bolts off and their Steam Parts Blow up and The Gang Cheers But There are buffers Mr Conductor puts on The Brakes But it's To Late and they crash after the crash they get right back on the tracks Meanwhile at night in Boston,Massachusetts Abby Tries to Think of a Plan to Save The World But Thomas Says That He used That Mission to Prove That he wasn't Silly and The Gang Are Surprised Thomas Then Learns that sometimes who we are is inside of all of Us He then gets an idea that Oscar Galvin is going to The Mainland To Take over the World with Diesel Power and Get to a Ship Heading to The Mainland Meanwhile P.T Boomer,Oscar Gavin,George,Diesel 10, Splatter, Dodge and Tornado are Presenting a New Diesel to The mainland but The Steam team Arrives and Sends Diesel 10,George, Splatter,Dodge and Tornado To Railgate Prison When P.T Boomer is sent to Jail while Chick Hicks is sent to radiator Springs prison While Number 777 is Chased By Thomas,After Chasing number 777 Thomas Gets an Idea to Derail 777 By Abby Switching Points to a Field on Sodor Thomas sets his Plan in Motion when it worls 777 is sent to Back to AWVR in California The Flim Ends at The Sheds with Thomas Learning his lesson with The Camera Going into his mind.
Development
On July 1, 2000, it was reported that Destination Films began development on a sequel to Thomas and The Magic Railroad, but it was quietly cancelled.
In 2003, 3 years after the original film (Thomas and The Magic Railroad) became a box-office failure, Britt Allcroft, creator of Thomas & Friends, has been resigned from her original company which was now known as "Gullane Entertainment". After HiT Entertainment took control on Thomas & Friends, HiT revealed that its theatrical division would be piloted by a "Thomas" film. Originally targeted for late-2010 release, in September 2009 this was revised to "Spring 2011".
As of January 2011, the release date had been pushed back further to 2012 and the name of the production had still not been announced. The initial draft of the script was written by Josh Klausner who has also said that the film will be set around the times of World War II, Will McRobb and Chris Viscardi also helped write the script. On 8 June 2011, Deadline announced that 9 director Shane Acker will direct the live-action adaptation of Thomas the Tank Engine, with Weta Digital designing the film's visual effects. Since Then Production was announced,but rumors said it got cancelled. But all hope wasn't lost 4 years Later,jumping forward to 2015 Crazy Nate would discover The Thomas and Friends Show When he discovered it He wanted to make A flim based of it so he asked Mattel who owned HiT Entertainment at the time then Mattel Made a Deal with Disney and Viacom to help them distribute the film then in 2016 and 2017 Mattel got some people who didnt work with the show Like Dan Povenmire,Jeff swampy marsh,Rob Hoegee,Rebecca sugar and Alex Hirsch. the flim was done in November 2019.then it got Schedule to be released on July 14th 2020 but due to The COVID-19 Pandemic it was relased on blu ray and digital and its scheduled to be released on Disney+ on August 29.

On Metacritic, the film achieved an average score of 99 out of 100 based on 39 reviews, signifying "universal acclaim".
CinemaScore reported that audiences gave the film a rare "A-" grade. Some of the critics and moviegoers had praised Nicolas Cage's performance of the character Boomer, The New York Times reviewed his performance "When the infamous actor used to make an appearance in any movie like The Wicker Man until it has been flopped, but his performance that he did was the main antagonist P.T. Boomer in the Movie where Boomer is very envious that he has nothing to get on his way, which is the most great performance I have ever seen". It Had a 8.3/10 on IMDB IGN game the film a grade of 9.8/10 (Amazing).

On July 20 2020, A sequel was planned by Walt Disney. Pictures, It will plan to happen. On September 4th 2020, Britt Allcroft announced the title, Thomas and Friends:The Movie 2 Thomas and The 2 Brothers. in US and "Special Day Of Sodor: A Thomas & Friends Movie" in UK/Australia/New Zealand and set to release most likely on December 21st 2022. On July 31st, 2020, it's confirmed that Disney and Paramount. will be the distributor worldwide and neither Blue sky or Warnermedia will return. On September 10th, 2020 after "Thomas and Friends:The Movie had a Oscar nomination, but lost to Phineas and Ferb The Movie:Candace vs The Universe, which won, they decided that they'll develop the sequel soon. They're currently working on "Bob The Builder: The Can-Do Crew", set to release for June, 2021 and it'll be the second Crazy Nate film based on a Mattel or HiT Entertainment property after the Thomas and Friends:The Movie and Crazy Nate will direct the Bob The Builder film.
